The Starfish Difference
What Happens to Your Bike After Your Mission?
You may decide to send your bike home when you have completed your mission. But, if you don’t need it, here is a wonderful alternative:
Brother Carl Haupt and his associate, Dan Bates have established an organization — The Starfish Difference —that finds, repairs and sends trailers, mobile homes, wheelchairs, and bikes to those in Mexico who would otherwise not be able to afford such necessary items in their lives.
The Starfish Difference will accept your bike, and will refurbish it for much needed use in Mexico.
Your bike will help somebody there who will be blessed by your generosity and the hard work of The Starfish Difference.
After any necessary repairs, the bike will be given to somebody for commuting and necessary transportation to a job.
Your only requirement is to pay the shipping cost which will usually be no more than $50.
If you would like to contribute your used mission bike, pack it and send it to:

By donating your used mission bike to a person in Mexico you accomplish the following:
- Recycle the bicycle — make it useful for somebody who otherwise couldn’t afford it.
- Reduce the litter — get your bike out of the mission and know that it will be going to an optimal use.
- Resolve the question — “what do I do with my used missionary bike?”
